“After arriving late in Pompeii approximately 5:30 pm we were turned away from entering the site at the turnstile.
Our host turned disappointment into magic by getting us evening passes starting at 8:00 p.m.
We grabbed a delicious dinner at a local restaurant and headed to the line to enter.
I had no idea how beautiful and surreal this environment was at night.
Against a dark and cloudy sky with low exhibition light on most of the monuments there in front of my eyes was a feast of beauty and serenity.”
