Last week, during the 26th Visa pour l’Image, the winners of the Visa d’or have been announced.
Tyler Hicks won the Visa d’or News Award for his report on Westgate Mall Massacre, Nairobi. The Visa d’or Feature Award was awarded to Guillaume Herbaut for his report on Ukraine. Maxim Dondyuk won the Ville de Perpignan Rémi Ochlik Award also for his recent work on Ukraine. Eugene Richards got a Lifetime Achievement Visa d’or Award. Finnish photographer Meeri Koutaniemi won the Visa d’or Daily Press Award, for Taken, her work on female genital mutilation in Kenya. ICRC Humanitarian Visa d’or Award – International Committee of the Red Crossp awarded William Daniels, for his work on the humanitarian crisis in the Central African Republic. Daniels also won a Getty Images Grant for Editorial Photography, as the following: Juan Arredondo, Krisanne Johnson, Giulio Di Sturco and Jordi Busqué. For his work Drugs in Colombia, Kosuke Okahara won the Pierre & Alexandra Boulat Award. Finally, the ANI – PIXPALACE Award was awarded to Frederik Buyck.
