Patrick Vollat recently presented his series Son âme mise à nu at the Salon Monts d’Or Photos. He presents it like this:
This series of images, “Son âme mise à nu”, combines portrait and nude photos, aiming to achieve more than each offers separately. A most perilous exercise, nude photography requires avoiding the joint pitfalls of vulgarity and naivety while retaining its powers of fascination and sensuality.
The nude challenges, jostles, disturbs, is sometimes violent and thus amplifies the intentions and designs implemented, those of the photographer as well as those of the model and the reactions and emotions of the person contemplating the images.
May my model Sandra be praised! her simple and intense beauty, her moving and radiant presence serve as a revealer and a driving force to translate ideas and atmospheres with as much force as possible. To understand here: the difficulty of being.
In these images, the same woman appears dressed and naked, appearance and being, a magical juxtaposition ultimately revealing the nudity of the soul.
