Fall is in full swing, as most of us can attest to. Yet at the rate we find ourselves running around lately, some of us might not have even noticed the simple things, like the leaves changing into their beautiful deep reds, rich oranges and bright yellows. But lucky for you (and me), the fashion magazines have come to the rescue, showing off a variety of colors and tones, in addition to some calculatedly moody undertones – in case you missed any. How fitting for the season.
In Bon magazine’s Fall issue, photographer Hasse Nielsen shows a shy side of model Kirsi Pyrhonen, in a beautifully executed backshot. In keeping with a certain shyness, Arnaud Pyvka aims to capture a timid Natasa Vojnovic for Marie Claire Italy’s October issue.
Keeping things under wraps is one way of dealing with emotions, as illustrated by photographer Txema Yeste in these images for Antidote’s Fall/Winter issue of model Constance Jablonski. One photographer who knows a thing or two in this arena, Nan Goldin, gets a different angle as she shows us fashion from her point of view in Grey Magazine’s Fall/Winter issue.
Serge Leblon takes a step forward in his shots for ELLE US’s September issue, of model Bregje Heinen – someone who’s clearly got places to go. Meanwhile, model Karlie Kloss gets a (long) leg up for photographer Roe Ethridge in Acne Paper’s Fall/Winter issue.
And though we are all in one way or another trying to get a leg up on things, sometimes it’s all in the eyes. Photographer Conny Kirste works with aggravated model Kristine Froseth in this portrait published in ELLE Serbia’s November issue, while model Querelle Jansen knows that patience is key, in this image by photographic duo Sofia Sanchez and Mauro Mongiello, published in Numero’s issue 138.
When accomplishing such tasks as applying lipstick while driving, many would agree that patience as well as a steady hand are critical, as lensman Lachlan Bailey demonstrates in this masterful maneuver by model Kendra Spears, from Vogue Paris’ November issue. And when boxing underwater, patience, skill and enough oxygen are the essentials, as proven by photographer Chadwick Tyler in this shot of model Elsa Hosk, where grace and strength mingle, published in the latest issue of Victory Journal.
Staying just a bit longer underwater, we find Laurie Bartley shooting model Othilia Simon for Italian Flair’s October issue, in this image of festive yet protective beach attire, where we’re reminded just how important perspective is this season. And nowhere is that more important than in the workplace, where sometimes we lose proper perspective. The (role) models Karlie Kloss and Daphne Groeneveld illustrate some ways to deal when the heat rises in the office, as captured by Venetia Scott for Self Service’s Fall/Winter issue.
Seeking higher ground, on a horse, is also known to have profound benefits in calming our senses and getting us back on the right track. Photographer Camilla Akrans gets model Moa Aberg saddled up (minus the gear) to get us inspired, in these images taken for 25 Magazine.
Juergen Teller invites model Mariacarla Boscono and her growing belly out into the fields for Italian Flair’s October issue, in what seems to be a private ceremony with Mother Nature. Meanwhile, Salma Hayek gets in touch with her feminine side in these shots by Paola Kudacki for Harper’s Bazaar UK’s November issue, curves and all.
Gisele Bundchen throws her multimillion dollar curves around too for photographic duo Daniele + Iango in i-D magazine’s Fall issue, while model Morloes Horst now gets to say that she was shot by photographer Billy Kidd in these beautifully natural images for Oyster Magazine’s issue 101.
In homage to the original street photographers of decades past, Marcus Ohlsson pays tribute in his own way with these snapshots of model Egle Jezepcikaite, published in Velvet’s November issue.
So now you’ve come to the end of this Fall road, and as photographer Pierre Dal Corso shows us in his image for Contributor magazine online, it’s time to kick up your feet and relax – even if for just a moment…
