On June 13, Xinhua, the official Chinese agency better known in France as Chine Nouvelle, opened the doors of a new gallery, Xinhua Gallery Media France, devoted entirely to photography. The 250 square-meter space on the chic Faubourg Saint-Honoré was unveiled in the presence of the agency’s director, Li Congjun, the president of the AFP, Emmanuel Hoog, and former French President Valéry Giscard d’Estaing. For the occasion, fifty photographs taken between 1964 and 2013 are being exhibited in the gallery. The selection was made by Yves Gacon from the AFP and Mrs. Xiao Bo Chen for Xinhua. The final selection was made by exhibition curator Caroline Stein.
