In 2013, the Little Big Galerie exhibited the José Ferrer series Fragments aquatiques, and now it’s giving the Parisian public the chance to discover his latest work, Visites à Walden through June 4th, 2015. For the occasion, Ferrer added a few new productions to his first series.
Ferrer builds his images out of the photographs he takes on his walks and travels, or that he finds in drawers filled with the childhood memories, and objects photographed at the flea market. In his first exhibition, Fragments aquatiques, he combined old objects, places and silhouettes to form a surreal fabric of dreams and memory with nostalgic colors. It was a journey through time made using state-of-the-art digital tools, although they don’t have that “retouched” look.
To be closer to his subject, José added a few pieces to the exhibition, including a hand-made collage of wood and cardboard on a photograph printed on a wooden plate: a return to nature inspired by Thoreau’s depiction of Walden.
