The Exhibition Project that Paci contemporary gallery present for this edition of Paris Photo Los Angeles the Czech Artist Michal Macku, with the title “An Anthology of 3D Photography”. The intention is to recall the crucial phases in the career of the artist, beginning with the first gellage and carbon print shown for the first time at the Ludwig Museum in Koln (1989).
From this point on, Macku was deeply concerned in combining these two primary techniques with glass . The artist operates on the edge of photography in terms of a means of mechanical production of data from the outside world. It is no coincidence if the term that the artist uses comes from the fusion of “gelatin” and “collage”, for the very sense of this work is indeed set off in this grey area between the two. This is photography which lies at a crossroads between different media.
