fotofever has run alongside Paris Photo for the past four years, presenting the new photography scene at the Carrousel du Louvre. This emerging event aims to facilitate access to the acquisition of photographic works and to bring artists and collectors together. For 2015, fotofever will be welcoming 80 international exhibitors until 15 November.
fotofever is committed to a number of significant projects and initiatives:
– The fotocollection, designed to arouse interest with the exhibition of a private collection on a brand new theme for 2015 – the chair – from Galila Barzilaï Hollander’s collection.
– The collectfoto, handed out to every visitor to serve as a user guide for the public and for collectors.
– The ‘start to collect’, a selection of works on sale at less than €1,000 to help people start their collection.
– The fotoprize to reveal talents: greater visibility for a young graduate from a French school of art, to help them move into the art market and with the fotobook to keep a trace of the exhibition in images – something to leaf through after the event is over. This year’s winner is Juliette-Andréa Elie.
Plus two new features for 2015:
– The fotowalk, an introduction to collection. The fotowalks will take place every day, on reservation. They will explore a wide array of contemporary photography from photojournalism to photographic creation, including staged photography – or fotofiction and unique images. fotofever is teaming up with De-ci de l’Art for this photographic immersion.
– fotoweb, providing a year-round showcase on fotofever’s website for the 900 or so artists on show in more than 250 partner galleries.
