The Garten exhibition by the ParisBerlin collective, with the garden as its theme, can be seen at the Goethe Institute in Paris until October 29th. The garden is an area bound by space and time. Gardens are often magical places playing a very important symbolic role, promising tranquillity and offering a way of seeking out our roots or getting back to nature . The theme highlights the importance of the garden in our urban lifestyle.
Why this “need” for greenery in the city? The work of ten photographers from the ParisBerlin>fotogroup demonstrates that a garden is a place where people and nature interact. In urban areas – like everywhere else – people have harnessed nature to appease their need for a natural environment.
