More than one and a half months after the death of British singer David Bowie, A. Galerie in Paris is organizing an exhibition in his honor with portraits of the artist taken by numerous international photographers. Arnaud Adida, gallery director, shares a few words on this new exhibition, on view through May 9th:
“I’ve been a big fan of Bowie since my childhood.
After the news of his death a month ago, I was deeply saddened and aware that a real creative genius was lost. I realized that a number of the gallery’s photographers had photographed him in the past: Seliger, Rankin, Galella, Schapiro, Watson, Gassian…
So, I decided to put on a show, asking them for their best prints.
I added to this selection other photographers I liked very much, such as Greg Gorman, Lynn Goldsmith, Terry O’Neill, Markus Klinko, even Gavin Evans…”
