A First of its Kind Publication Dedicated to the Intersection of Visual Art and Professional Wrestling.
Cultural Counsel announces the release of Orange Crush: The Art & Wrestling Journal. The 100-page, perfect bound magazine is a visually rich assemblage of specially commissioned artwork, behind-the-scenes photography, exclusive interviews, and exploratory essays.
Contributors to the inaugural issue include artists Carroll Dunham, Cameron Jamie, Rob Thom, and Nicolas Lobo and writers Alissa Bennett, Hunter Braithwaite Dan Duray, David C. Hunt, Emily Pratt, and Janelle Zara, among many others. The resulting volume presents a first of its kind look at the converging worlds of visual art and professional wrestling.
For the publication’s cover story, Orange Crush commissioned Topical Cream founder and photographer, Lyndsy Welgos to create a series of “glamour shot” portraits of “The Bad Boy” Joey Janela. The cover story is an exclusive interview with the pro-wrestler in anticipation of Spring Break 4 —the postponed yet still upcoming fourth edition of Janela’s annual independent wrestling event that catapulted the Asbury Park-bred brawler into the public imagination.
