An exceptional meeting of opera and photography took place this year in Italy between the prestigious Opera di Firenze and Contrasto, a photo agency renowned in Italy and abroad. This is the first time such an important opera house has chosen to make photography its “spokesperson” for its entire program of concerts, operas and performances for the 77th Maggio Fiorentino festival, the oldest festival of its kind after Salzburg. The images of the past and present offer viewers a visual journey illustrating the richness of the music, actors and audience.
