The work presented here emerged from an encounter between the photographer, Olivier Pasquiers, and the ARéS 92 health network taking care of AIDS patients in the northern suburb of the Hauts de Seine over the past 18 years.
The team wanted to tell the story “in pictures” of the daily lives of people diagnosed with AIDS : not just AIDS, but life. How is it possible to at once allow the observant photographer to capture the lives of these patients living in total secrecy? The answer is in the pictures. Patients were introduced to the photographer by the medical team at the Louis Mourier Hospital. Together they then chose a location for the photos.
