“To take a photograph is to touch another person’s vulnerability, impermanence and mortality. It is precisely photography’s ability to select and immortalise a single moment that allows it to bear witness to the inexorable march of time. The festival Nordic Light will open next week in Kristiansund in western Norway. For this eighth edition of the festival, color has pride of place. With a strong international focus, the festival will welcome Steve McCurry, Alex Webb and Rebecca Norris Webb. In collaboration with festival director Anne Lise Flavik, the latter two artists will present an exhibition on Cuban photography. With 25 photographers, more than thirty exhibitions, and many conferences and portfolio reviews, the week promises to be a busy one. Although the festival ends on April 27, the exhibitions will run until May 5.
