Finland is being honored until April 6 at New York’s Scandinavia House, which is exhibiting the work of nine photograhers from the Helsinki School. Born in the mid-1990s, the Helsinki School encompasses to photographers who graduated from, or who were somehow involved with, Aalto University in Helsinki. The exhibition was organized in partnership with Timothy Persons, director of the photography department and a curator at the TaiK Gallery. The exhibition New Wave Finland: Contemporary Photography from the Helsinki School brings together photos and videos by Pasi Autio, Joakim Eskildsen, Tiina Itkonen, Hannu Karjalainen, Kalle Kataila, Anni Leppälä, Niko Luoma, Riitta Päiväläinen and Mikko Sinervo.
