Last Camera magazine is out ! Founded in 1922, disappeared in 1981 and relaunched in 2013, the magazine invites French photographers Pierre & Gilles. Invited to be editors-in-chief for the occasion, the couple chose to question portrait as the main theme of the issue. Through “identity, memory, plasticity and likelihood“, the journal questions representation of the other and self-awareness through an artist.
To be read, an encounter between Pierre & Gilles and journalist and writer Corinne Lellouche. The latter describes their founding trips and discoveries, the Eighties and the hecatomb in the art scene due to Aids. Also to be noted, French philosopher Jean-Marie Schaeffer delivers a remarkable essay entitled Portrait / Anti-portrait, while Caroline Stein opens the doors of the collection Neuflize OBC to show the many portraits of the collection.
