When Antidote Magazine launched their ”Icons Issue” earlier this spring they had commissioned Jan Welters to photograph the whole issue. Naomi Campbell, Eva Herzigova and Malgosia Bela where some of the modelling icons Welters captured for the magazine. Starting today a selection of images from the magazine are on display and for sale at Joyce Gallery in Paris.
From June 28th, the exhibition will last for five weeks. On the occasion of Men’s Fashion Week and the Couture Week in Paris, Antidote Magazine will host a special event to gather all the fashion press around the project.
All the benefits stemming from the sales of Welters photographs will go to a charitable organisation against cancer led by professor David Khayat: Association pour la Vie – Espoir contre le Cancer.
Dutch born Jan Welters began his photographic career in Amsterdam. He lived in New York and Milan before settling in Paris in 1995. Over the years he has contributed to magazines like French, German and American Vogue, French and British Elle, Mixte, Double and Details.
Antidote is a bi-annual fashion publication with an international scope governed by creative director Yann Weber. With a hard cover and 360 pages Antidote is hovering between a book and a fashion magazine.
