Galleria l’Affiche opened in Milan in 1990. Since its foundation, it has presented from 5 to 8 exhibitions a year, preferring young authors and / or newcomers. Publishing catalogs (now to its credit more than 60 titles) and then bringing their work to other galleries in Italy and abroad. The gallery curated the first exhibitions of artists such as Gianluigi Toccafondo (1991), Spider (1991), Francesco Bocchini (1998), Francesco Santosuosso (1998), Antonello Viola (1999), Simone Pellegrini (2002), Paul Picozza (2003). It promotes its artists in public events such as: Fresco Bosco in the Certosa di Padula, Quadrennial Rome, Quadrennial Turin, Venice Biennale (Italian Pavilion and Independents Collateral Events). Its work has focused on painting, sculpture, installations, and recently started to be curious about photography. We decided to participate in the MIA because we think that, in Italy, it is at the moment the more interesting space for photography, both for galleries, and for the public. We present the photos of Margherita Lazzati, who recently decided to confront her work with the public. We present at MIA a very special work of Margherita, a cycle of photos about a wall painting in London that represents the portrait of Samuel Beckett. Margherita Lazzati photographed it for three years, until its destruction, with all that was happening around (people walking, the change of light, the life of the city around the wall). We are interested in the work of Margherita Lazzati not only by a photographic point of view, but because it is based on a conceptual project.
