Carlo Madesani, founder of Onepieceart gallery in Rome, starts a new activity in Milan, his hometown. Camera16 contemporary art aims to focus on the research of artists, photographers, historical and contemporary, with the aim of opening new windows on the world of contemporary art. The program begian March 1st 2010 with an exhibition of the famous photographer Irina Ionesco, Romanian-French, former contortionist, visionary, with a strong and delicate sensibility. on the occasion of Salone Internazionale del Mobile 2010, the gallery presented English artist-designer Nigel Coates, with limited edition furniture and important elements of lighting; , all items blended with ethereal Baroque music. Massimo Listri, with the exhibition “Under Construction”, fixed the geometric perfection of the rooms that contrasts and leaves space to disorder in moments of transition, construction’s phases, of restauration or preparation, in which the dust ennobles instead of blurring colors, light and memory. The calendar continued with young artists’ research: Gayle Chong Kwan and Indre Serpytyte, with images of eastern and nordic nuances, rich and disarmingly simple, sweet and sour at the same time; emerging and important Italian photojournalist: Francesco Acerbis, Alfredo Bini, Massimiliano Clausi, Mauro D’Agati, Stefano De Luigi, Giulio Di Sturco, Marco Gualazzini, Pietro Masturzo, Mimì Mollica, Alessandro Vincenzi. The exhibitions continued with Jason Oddy, a famous photographer who all his life looked for the space and empathy that he found with them. His pics aren’t just simple images of inside ,but also some tracks of a very closed relationship, a symbiosis. Here the photographer disappears, he become a part of all . There are also two important up and coming photography talents Sandy Kim and Anthony Maule, very important and remarkable for their new language and for the transversal choice of fashion. From the fashion background , the discovery of an other young person: Wendy Bevan, , in a world of ambiguity and narrations of uneasiness. Bevan’ s aesthetic is surreal: a tender and sincere portrayal of the female form, which offers a valid alternative to the digitally manipulated glossy images found everywhere today. We’re proud to guest artist as Edgar Martins, award-winning Portuguese photographer. “This is not a house” is a production model on the economic crisis, with a job on the American real estate market. In November 2011 the gallery openned its door to Mauro D’ Agati and its “Alamar”. In Ferbruary 2012 Camera 16 contemporary art was pleased to present a double exhibition dedicated to two internationally famous photographers: Fergus Greer and Johnny Rozsa, who, with their pictures, tell the legendary story of Leigh Bowery (1961-1994), undoubtedly one of the most controversial and avant-garde personalities of the 80’s. Also the great Italian photographers of the ‘900 Lisetta Carmi, Luciano D’Alessandro, Mario De Biasi, Mario Dondero, Nino Migliori complete the scene that the gallery wants to develop. The artists, chosen to represent Camera16, reveal the many aspects of a life fully lived, in which space and time are not always tied to a place and an instant but change in front of the beholder eyes.
