It has been the happy moment of today. This mail from Mark Seidenfeld and these images :
As I have been in isolation, I have been working alone, creating a new series, entitled “Legend of Marko, the Desert Scorpion.”
This is self-portraiture – as an opera of violence. I hope you enjoy it.
I would love to find a gallery willing to show this series. I do my own printing, and I have a much larger group of self portraits, playing out other fantasy characters, in addition to the work I ordinarily do.
When Isolation and Imagination Collide, a Legend is Born.
I live in a small town by the sea. Life quickly quieted as contact with other people faded away. Isolation set in. The only way to escape was through flights of imagination. I set a green screen in my small studio and took self-portraits, acting out an opera of violence in a fantasy world. I added backgrounds, people, and animals that I had previously shot. That is how I created “Legend of Marko, the Desert Scorpion.”
