In London this Wednesday 13th and Thursday 14th, September, Sotheby’s organizes the sale of Mario Testino’s collection. Collected funds from this sale will mainly go to the Museo MATE (Lima, Peru), opened by the collector in 2012. Curious will be able to find the masterpieces of the collection, composed of photographs, sculptures, paintings and drawings from 15 to 17 August 2018 in Los Angeles. As for photography, the work Untitled (Girlfriend, 1999) by Richard Prince is estimated between 250,000 and 350,000 British pounds.
Mario Testino told Sotheby’s that he wanted to extend his museum to “promote Peruvian art to the world, to put Lima on the map as a cultural destination, to instil dynamic education programmes and to bring international artists to Peru. ”
