Marine De la loge et Tristan Happel

Preview

Two photographers. Two visions. Two countries with diametrically opposed cultures. One in black and white, the other in color. And yet, a common line emerges. This exhibition highlights the fundamental changes taking place in these two countries. China continues to experience a highly visible and rapid transformation, a stark contrast between the traditional and the ultra-modern. While in recently independent Berlin, the alternative neighborhoods of the 1990s see their centers being pushed toward the outskirts of the city.

The photographs of Marine De la loge and Tristan Happel are being exhibited for the Mois Off de la Photo.

Having both grown up in the Ile de France, the two artists met during their studies in geography. Since then, they have each taken their own paths in their practice of photography: Tristan Happel is a recent graduate of the École Nationale Louis Lumière, while Marine De la Loge is still studying at Gobelins.

With a shared interest in discovering the world and finding a way to present it in a more spontaneous way, they decided in 2012 to organize a project combining two of their series.
