Marilyn would have enjoyed herself. Last night at Steven Kasher Gallery in Chelsea, over flutes of Dom Perignon, all anyone was talking about was Marilyn and Larry Schiller’s photos of her. To celebrate the opening of Larry Schiller’s solo exhibition of photographs and the publication of “Marilyn and Me”, his memoir, as well as an art edition of photos of the same name, by Taschen, there was a VIP reception in the Gallery. The photographs of Marilyn are from 1962 on the set of her unfinished movie “Something’s Got to Give” and include color and B&W prints, as well as enlarged and original contact sheets. There is also a show of some Schiller’s other work from Hollywood and elsewhere. It is a striking show.
