The Bibliothèque nationale de France, Département de l’Audiovisuel, Paris has, with the direction of curator Brigitte Loret, created an archive for Marcus Reichert. Born in the United States in 1948, Marcus Reichert is known internationally as a painter, poet, photographer and filmmaker. He first arrived in Paris at the age of fifteen. Among the works in his archive at the BnF Paris, and available for viewing, is Le Jugement de Paris (2015). It is an autobiographical work, a series of images in montage that create an abstract visual history. The works were created digitally with photographs and elements of collage. With some works there is writing, quotes from people Reichert was with at the time of the events depicted, or his own comments. The events alluded to as image metaphors took place in Berlin, Paris, and New York from 1977 to 1981, however the images exist within a timeless frame of reference and Reichert has stated in his written works that he does not believe in the concept of time. During this period, Reichert worked on film projects with Armande Altaї, David Bowie, Brian Eno, Dennis Lipscomb, Deborah Harry, and, notably, Mick Jagger in the role of Antonin Artaud.
