The latest exhibition from Bettina Rheims, Bonkers! A Fortnight in London is opening today at Christie’s in London.
Coinciding with the release of the book of the same name, this exhibition features thirty photographs showing the artist’s work on the frivolity, charm and inspiring courage of the young generation of English “It Girls.”
A longtime fan of British culture, inspired by the rock’n’roll spirit, Rheims spent two weeks photographing thirty young women. With the help of the eccentric stylust Sascha Lilic, she was able to capture the essence of what makes them British. Girls photographed include Amber Le Bon, Harriet Verney, Mary Charteris, Portia Freeman, and Morwenna Cobbold-Lytton.
The exhibition will head next to Camera Work in Berlin and be on display from September 19th to late November.
