Murong Slippers’ real name is Yu, not Murong. The pseudonym is a combination of a traditional surname and, well, slippers. It’s a sign that the person behind the name likes to joke around and present different facets of himself. He’s the type to understand that life is both wonderful and dangerous. There are mountains, water, hair and hormones in his work. He makes them all palpable and with a limitless depth, tense but refined.
Muron Slippers is good enough to remember the harmony of days and nights and make them into miracles, all on his path to enlightenment. He is like a fish swimming for years along the boundaries of permissiveness. Or perhaps he is like a cat waiting for a fish to eat, but first he must suffer while he waits. That is Murong Slipper, arbitrary in his philosophy of art, like a mystery that piques our curiosity, but which he will never reveal.
He is simply a pair of slippers named Murong.
