Over the course of more than half a century, Lee Marks became one of the iconic dealers of Photography, a passionate force who tirelessly and gracefully championed her artists and Photography. Today she turns the page with the beautiful The Last Picture Show, she sent us this text:
After more than fifty years in the fine-art photography world, I have decided to close my business of representing photographers and selling their work. I hope to remain involved in this field, so this may not be an end but perhaps a beginning.
Working with extraordinary people over the years, I wish to thank the many private dealers and gallerists, museum and corporate curators, collectors, and most of all, the photographers who have given me the inspiration to be in this business. Many have become good friends…others have sadly died too young.
Over the years I have been involved in creating collections, producing and co-authoring books, and through the Association of International Photography Art Dealers (AIPAD), helping promote photography as a seriously collectible art form. It’s been an amazing journey.
