FAMOUS POETS a photo essay (November 2017) is a collection of photos of notable Poets from 2009 – 2016 with a half dozen images of celebrities, i.e. Cindy Crawford (cover) reading books by poets or about Poetry, printed in Iceland by Oddi Press. I was mainly influenced by Allen Ginsberg’s prolific collection of images of poets/friends of his generation. Most of the portraits are spontaneous posed images taken at poetry readings and events, but a few are candid (Helen Vendler at Dunkin’ Donuts before her seminar on Whitman at the 92nd St. Y in NYC). For nearly twenty years, I was a freelance photographer with The New York Post.
