The exhibition is over, we are showing it to you nevertheless.
Its author, John Loengard, one of the legendary directors of photography and photographer of LIFE magazine.
The exhibition took place this summer in St. Louis, Missouri at The International Photography Hall of Fame and Museum (IPHF)
Look, the first image is a marvel: Henri Cartier Bresson playing kite at home in the Luberon!
In his 30-year career with LIFE magazine, Loengard’s subjects have included movie stars, writers, politicians, artists and other photographers, as well as normal people engaged in a host of activities, mundane and otherwise.
For Loengard, each situation is an opportunity to entwine the ordinary and the unexpected into something beautiful and meaningful. “My lens,” says Loengard, “marries reality to form, and my camera records their marriage. Their wedding forms a moment. The proper moment means the world to me.”
John Loengard is a 2018 International Photography Hall of Fame Inductee.
