With his latest book The River Winter, the British landscape photographer Jem Southam takes readers along the banks of the Exe, which crosses the countryside of Devonshire before emptying into the English Channel. These forty photographs taken between November 2010 and Spring 2011 show Southam’s sense of color, light and timing, reminding viewers that winter, visually, is a very cold season indeed.
