Montblanc is supporting contemporary creation by opening the doors to art in the boutique rue de la Paix in Paris . For the launch of the new Gulliver pen, Montblanc is exposing the work of photographer Jean-François Rauzier, whose extraordinary journey mirrors Gulliver’s trail.
Jean-François Rauzier’s artistic work is largely inspired by the themes developed in Jonathan Swift’s philosophical story. The two works toy with macro and microscopic concepts. Jonathan Swift places his hero in a world of extreme proportions. The photographic technique of JF Rauzier is in constant movement, between extremely large and very small, details and global visions that shake up conceptions of scale and proportions. The imaginary and the fantastic are dominant elements of this works that toy with reality to better disorient spectators. Gulliver leaves the world as we know it to explore a totally different, astonishing, impossible, metaphorical world. The hyperphoto is also a way to tell the story of these parallel worlds through a dreamlike prism. Both for Swift and Rauzier, humanist thinking is central to their work; telling the story about man and his place in the world, his relation to culture and to others.
