“The scene was set. I had to find an idea true to my other work, off-beat and technically challenging. For a long time I had been interested in dance and the circus, and I wanted that contortion, a human body in a piece of furniture, came to me as I walked through the hotel… The most important part of the job was finding a piece of furniture that could be emptied out and restructured to fit a human being.”
