“This award that we are inventing together is important in the construction of the International College of Photography, it is now a strong signal towards a practice and an art profession which form the basis of the project. Alongside our work aimed at the recognition of this living heritage in collaboration with the Heritage Directorate (Ministry of Culture) with the support of the Grésigny Foundation, the Florence and Damien Bachelot Collection Print Award forms the launching pad for our concrete activities for the transmission of know-how. ”
Michel Poivert, President of the International College of Photography
The Florence & Damien Bachelot Collection Print Award is endowed with 5,000 euros for the “photographer” category.
“I sometimes wonder if I am not more a printer than a photographer. The shooting becoming almost a pretext to be able to be in the laboratory making my prints. […] Photographic printing is for me the very essence of photography. […] I practice Lith- Printing. This process differs from traditional black and white. A very long time in the developer, an image which slowly rises with suddenly an explosion of blacks. Lith brings intense blacks but also colors and textures. Each paper reacts differently and the more the chemistry evolves, the more the results change. […] “The Lith is like a magical journey and after 15 years of this daily practice I continue to go from surprises to surprises. “Guillaume Zuili.
