In-sight is the second volume in a series of publications on the Wemhöner Collection. This book explores the medium of photography, which is the main focus of the collection.
In his investigation of photography, Heiner Wemhöner concentrates on artists who explore two themes – ‘people’ and ‘landscapes’. The following five chapters illustrate the great diversity of these two overarching themes in multi-faceted, and hopefully unexpected, contexts.
The title can be read in different ways: In-sight can refer to the perspective of the collector, the artist or the viewer. Heiner Wemhöner’s view of art, the world and his personal experiences are reflected in all of the works: they evoke memories for him, document an encounter with the unknown or enable him to delve into a previously unfamiliar theme. The publication is thus simultaneously a retrospective, a snapshot and an overview.
