Photographer Henri Dauman died on September 13th in New York.
After surviving the Vel d’Hiv roundup during the war in Paris, Henri Dauman undertook a transatlantic journey to the United States, where he emerged as one of the great photographers of his time. He captured the faces of the Bronx, documented civil rights struggles, and immortalized icons such as Andy Warhol, the Kennedys, Marilyn Monroe and Elvis Presley through his lens.
All week, in the archives, you will find the day we dedicated to him in February 2017.
