The Lille-based House of Photography (Maison de la Photographie in French) celebrates its 20th years i this Wednesday. For the occasion, candles will be blown at 6:30 PM, with the opening of Catherine Balets’ new exhibition Looking for the Masters in Ricardo’s Golden Shoes. The exhibition Débuts will also open. At 8:30 PM the party, with a cocktail a bar and a DJ Set will be launch.A reading of portfolios is also scheduled on Saturday, December 16th, from 2 pm to 5 pm Entry is free and open to all.
The Maison de la Photographie was created in 1997. In 2003, it set up its final residence in Five (Lille) and was an active part of the celebrations for Lille 2004, European Capital of Culture. The House of Photography is also organizing the Transphotographique festival each year.. Olivier Spillebout has been running it since 2003.
