To open the year 2025, in camera galerie presents “Love”, a collective exhibition bringing together the works of sixteen photographers of all nationalities: Nobuyoshi Araki, Thomas Vandenberghe, Mark Steinmetz, Julian Germain, Claudine Doury, Jean Noël de Soye, Alexandra Catiere, Ananias Léki Dago, Koto Bolofo, Bertien van Manen, Philippe Bordas, Paul Kodjo, Jerry Berndt, André Kertesz, Jane Evelyn Atwood, Eva Rubinstein.
The theme of love seems to go against the grain of our times, rife with tensions. However, it brought together sixteen artists who were separated by everything: age, background, vision, method. No doubt because this feeling is essential to photographic practice, described by Aaron Siskind as “a way of feeling, of touching, of loving. » When reality beckons to the photographer, an instinctive empathy arises which is not far in a way of love at first sight, with the desire to snatch this moment from the movement of the world, by combining skill with intelligence. “Photography,” said Cartier-Bresson, “is putting the head, the eye and the heart on the same line of sight.”
