This is one of the most unusual portfolios received as the year is ending.
Photographer Hervé Robillard took these photos on the construction site of the Champagne Taittinger house headquarters in Reims.
He accompanied them with these words:
The photographic project was born right away from my encounter with the place.
For me, it was not just about reporting the different phases of the construction site’s transformations but about merging them into a broader perspective: the historic site of Maison Taittinger not as a stage but as a world.
Capturing the slightest traces of the exhumed surfaces before they are covered again: palimpsest fixed by photography.
Capturing the successive metamorphoses of the space.
Feeling the light, the matter, the vibrations, the energies.
Becoming one with the genius loci to reveal a more significant reality that is in phase with the deep pulsations of the inner world.
Acquiring a contemplative posture to meditation immersing us in the infinite presence of the place.
Revealing the mystery of the place in its relationships both material and immaterial.
Projecting nothing, not letting oneself be restricted by know-how but rather blend into the flow of life, as close as possible to a know-how capable of freeing a singular and poetic vision of forms.
Bringing out the quality of space that makes us dive into an imaginary world.
May this personal adventure – full and complete – be an extension of the Taittinger experience in its timeless and universal approach.
