David Hummelen (1986, Maastricht) is a graduate of the Graphic Lyceum Utrecht (2008) and the Design Academy Eindhoven (2015).
My work is a research on the color and the lighting effect that I try to make visible in different ways. These are carefully thought out compositions where the transition between colors and imagination begins to speak. Placing colored transparent shapes relative to each other results in reflections, blending, gradations, and color saturation. The effect of light creates shades of color that create depths and spaces in which intuition plays an important role in the creative process. By experimenting, I arrive at an end result that I could not imagine advance.
