Earlier this month, Haute Photographie returned to Rotterdam for the fifth time with a focus on the diversity of the photographic landscape. To keep the concept of the ‘boutique fair’ alive, the list of participating galleries was once again select and varied. The selection included some of the best galleries in the Netherlands as well as international institutions ranging from New York to Madrid and from Paris to Zürich. Like in previous years, vintage photography has its own sections as well. Haute presented 50 participating artists, as well as this year’s six Haute Talents and the high-quality book market.
Here is the introduction by its founder/director, Roy Kahmann:
“For this edition of Haute Photographie Rotterdam – the fifth already! – we continue to focus on the diversity of the photographic landscape. To keep the concept of the ‘boutique fair’ alive, the list of participating galleries is once again select yet varied. This year we are proud to welcome new galleries as well as returning participants. The selection includes some of the best galleries in the Netherlands as well as international institutions ranging from New York to Madrid. Like in previous years, vintage photography once again has its own section as well.
Haute Photographie is the only fair to present its own talent programme: Haute Talent.
Six talents – recent graduates from Dutch art academies or beginning self-taught photographers – have once again been selected, mostly from the GUP NEW 2020 publication.
Through a well-defined and proven coaching trajectory, they are guided towards their first grand presentation at Haute Photographie. The Haute Talents are the perfect example of the next generation of photographers, who use the medium in ways never seen before.
This year, the Book Market is larger and more prominent than ever. A broad selection of new and classic publications, including many special editions, is presented by Artibooks and a selection of other exciting partners.
Haute Photographie Magazine is here to serve as inspiration in anticipation to the event, showing you all amazing photography that is ready to be discovered by you. To those obtaining the magazine at the fair: this publication serves as a tool to guide you through Haute Photographie, providing background information about your favourite artists. Enjoy the magazine, enjoy the event, and share in our profound love of photography.”

Haute Photographie is a photography fair with a concept unlike any other. It is centred around a group exhibition, featuring works by the grand masters from the history of photography, to the youngest and most exciting young talents working with the medium today. Haute Photographie is a boutique photography fair with the allure of a museum. The fifth edition is once again held in LP2, Rotterdam in February 2020.
Haute Photographie Magazine is the accompanying catalogue. The 2020 edition was launched at Paris Photo in November 2019. It presents all participating galleries and photographers and the six Haute Talents, as well as interviews with some of the most prominent people working in the field of photography today.
