The series Barbie Blad and Corps Anonymes d’Hamid Blad were selected by Xavier Gautruche (Acheteur d’Art) during portfolio review at the Gaite Lyrique on the 15 and 16 November 2014.
Barbie Blad
Barbies are true representatives of beauty. All they are is beautiful plastic faces. When I photograph these dolls, I want them to come to life. I try to humanize them, to give them a real face with imperfections. For this work I use the collodion process. The goal is to arrive at the border of surreality, from the richness of the detail to the blurred optics.
