The Musée national des arts asiatiques Guimet presents the exhibition Marc Riboud: Photographs of Vietnam 1966-1976.
In October 1967, Marc Riboud photographed American youth protesting in front of the Pentagon in Washington, D.C., shouting their revolt against the war. He created “The Girl with the Flower,” a world-famous photograph that symbolizes the desire for peace. In 1970, the photographer published “Face of North Vietnam,” a reportage that showed Americans for the first time the faces of those they were fighting.
Deeply affected by the Vietnamese tragedy, Marc Riboud visited Vietnam nearly ten times between 1966 and 1976. He produced extensive reports, admiring the courage of a people fighting with meager means against the greatest power in the world.
