Galerie Polaris is hosting Des lieux du Pouvoir, an exhibition by Eric Aupol. It presents it as follows:
With this series, Eric Aupol offers us a narrative of power punctuated by a certain redundancy. But upon closer inspection, while the views follow one another, they all complement each other and are the actors of a prolific visual writing that becomes fascinating through its logic. The shots are punctuated by images, each of which reproduces the same definition in a different form. The repetition is not a search for identity but a way of marking the entire space defined by the photographer.
A dialectic emerges from this succession of fragments and traces that form a whole constructed around the memory of a place—the bank—or the representation of a democracy that is now almost decadent. Reality takes shape around the images and opens onto a questioning attempt to see why these places of power still fascinate today.
