A production by Collectif Optim’Art will be presented for Fotografia Europea Off 2019. around the theme imposed this year concerning links, bondage and relationships. Via the exhibition : “Amore Dei Legami”, you will find a trilogy of photographic series conceived and realised by three different photographers. I chose these three series of works for their total proximity to the theme of this famous international event. Indeed, the coherence of our public offer rests, in addition to the intrinsic quality of each of the works, on the view of body and spiritual representations of the very strong, even violent, imaginary links that exist or may exist between two individuals or between the individual and his psychological double. Whatever the symbolic or physical representation of the link, it engenders affective feelings by its existence alone. The closer the relationship to another person, the more “invisible bonds” are formed, stronger and more active. This project shows three series, each of which is devoted to a very identified type of link; but, which together form a coherent sequence of the human relations to its own links.
The first series, “BloodLine”, by Carolina CUNEO, revolves around family ties, that cross generations, her series leads us through the link of blood, from a grandmother to her granddaughter, through the temporal symbolism expressed by the bodies. A subtle game.
The second series, “Submission, Suffering, Ecstasy” by the photographer from Wales, Paul John ROBERTS, leads to reflection on the initiate path of bondage: submission, suffering, ecstasy. This series of triptychs, treated in “clair-obscur”, with modesty, in the real intimacy of the subjects offers a great emotional aestheticism.
The third series, “l’Ove”, by Julien BERGEAUD completely removes any constraint in love ties that it directly replaces with the bodies knotted inside these strange and closed worlds around us.
