The exhibition “ABSTRACTION” by Miguel Vallinas and Damien Dufresne from February 13 to April 17, 2019 in the YellowKorner galleries: welcome to the reign of the strange and fantasy …!
The exhibition “ABSTRACTION” sublimates the surrealist world of photographer Miguel Vallinas and the sense of aesthetics of Damien Dufresne. Their subjects are magnified by black backgrounds reinforcing the enigmatic and disturbing aspects.
Damien Dufresne is an atypical photographer. The art photography gives him a real freedom, he can give free rein to his imagination, he does not try to provoke but he does not forbid anything to himself, he follows his instinct and makes images that have a meaning for him.
“For me, drawing, painting or photographing is a means of expression, of telling stories without using words, a form of language, a different way of communicating “… … “Technique is not an end but a means to serve creativity … emotion is what matters most to me” ….
His strength: creativity, his specificity: textures and colors, his engine: passion. Damien Dufresne worked in Paris, Seoul, Milan, New York, Tokyo. He now lives in Shanghai. Personal exhibitions: 2012 Espace Pierre Cardin, Paris, France 2014 “Painting on oneself”, Edward Achour Paris, Paris, France 2016 “Weird”, Salon H St Germain des Pres, Paris, France 2016 “Through your eyes” Marie Dalgar 7th Crossover Art Project, Shanghai, China 2018 “Clandestins”, YellowKorner Galerie Francs Bourgeois, Paris, France
Miguel Vallinas reveals through his surrealistic pictures, characters whose heads have been replaced by inanimate objects that represent our thoughts, our determination, our wishes. An abstraction of the poetic real, imbued with a touch of humor and derision.
Born in 1971 in Medina del Campo in northwestern Spain, photographer Miguel Vallinas Prieto has been producing images for industry, television and advertising for over twenty years. He trained at the School of Photography and Cinema of Madrid (EFTI) where he still lives today. In parallel with his commercial activity, Miguel Vallinas Prieto develops personal artistic projects that have earned him the merit of exhibiting in Hispanic galleries but also abroad and in particular for the international Fair Affordable Art Fair. He recently presented his series “Segunda Pieles” in London and Hong Kong. His work is also widely published in specialized magazines such as Vogue, Vanity Fair and The Guardian. An accomplished artist, he finds his inspiration in all types of subjects, be they contemporary architectures, urban landscapes or portraits.
Launch of the new photographic finish: “matte acrylic glass”, on the occasion of the exhibition “ABSTRACTION”
Matte acrylic Anti-reflection glass, sublimates the contrasts.
This new finish presented by the art photography publisher YellowKorner and perfectly magnifying the pictures of the exhibition “ABSTRACTION”, will be available on the entire YellowKorner catalog from February 13th.
MATT acrylic glass by YellowKorner offers a qualitative anti-reflective finish that is particularly popular in bright rooms. The matte finish adds “grain” to the photograph, adding material, roughness and vibration. The image stands out in all its details not being disturbed by a reflection, it is even more faithful to reality.
