Pierre-Yves Caër Gallery presents the exhibition “Wabi” by photographer Bishin Jumonji, curated by Naoko Ohta, and which will take place from January 31st to February 23rd, 2019.
The word “Wabi” refers to a Japanese aesthetic. Linked to Buddhism; this word is synonymous with the beauty of imperfect and impermanent things. With the photographic series of the same name, Bishun Jumonji strives, since 2000, to immortalize the contemplation of this ephemeral beauty.
The exhibition is part of the associated program “Japonismes 2018: Souls in Resonance”.
