The next edition of the Verbier Art Summit will be held on 4 and 5 April 2025 at the Hotel W in Verbier, Switzerland.
The 2025 Summit, in partnership with Philip Tinari, Director of the UCCA Contemporary Art Centre in China, will explore the pressing theme: QUARTER-LIFE CRISIS
Art in a world on the brink
Summit 2025 will ask how art can respond to a world on the brink, marked by rapid digital transformation, shifting geopolitical tensions and evolving identities. Tinari reflects on this year’s theme: ‘Meanwhile, we have continuously observed, posted and broadcast the digital acceleration that has brought about iterative transformation. Successive technologies have given rise to micro-generations, each with its own unique affect and subjectivity’.
As global complexities deepen, Summit invites artists, thinkers and innovators from diverse disciplines to reimagine the role of art in building cultural resilience and understanding. Speakers include artists Zanele Muholi and Claudia Comte, and writer Kyle Chayka.
2025 programme
The Verbier Art Summit 2025 will provide a unique space for artists and cultural leaders to explore, question and respond to today’s profound changes. The event comprises two days of discussions, debates and cultural events, starting at 9.30am CET on Friday 4 April and finishing at 6pm CET on Saturday 5 April. The conference programme will present the ideas of the Summit speakers in the form of 20-minute presentations, with free public access for all interested parties, both in person in Verbier and online. In addition, cultural activities can be organised all around Verbier, offering a local and international insight into the world of art. At the same time, the Summit is organising an invitation-only programme of debates aimed at generating innovative ideas for social change.
Registration for Summit 2025 will open to the public in January 2025. Art lovers, artists, curators and other cultural professionals will be invited to reserve their place for what promises to be a weekend of dialogue and discovery. Invitations to the programme of debates will be sent out before the end of the year.
To find out more about Summit 2025, join Philip Tinari and Summit founder Anneliek Sijbrandij in conversation at Art Genève on 30 January 2025 at 15:00 CET.
