The Folia gallery presents the exhibition “A Myth of Two Souls” by Vasantha Yogananthan from January 18 to March 2, 2019. “A Myth of Two Souls” is a project consisting of 7 books, in which the artist proposes a contemporary reinterpretation of myth of Ramayana, composed in Sanskrit in the 4th century and attributed to the poet Valmiki, and which tells the story of Rama and Sita, prince and princess of Ayodhya, condemned to live in exile for 14 years after a political intrigue. Produced in the 4 × 5 large-format photographic camera in black and white, the prints are then colorized by hand by an Indian painter.
