As part of the residency program “DéborNement(s)”, Valérie Champigny presents her photographic series “Pervasive constellations” at the Library of Sainte-Foy-la-Grande.
Valérie Champigny is a protean artist, she uses photography, drawing everyday while working on inhabited or near-desert places or invaded by a proliferating nature. The images captured daily allow him to question the notion of landscape. Her practice of photography focuses on fortuitous encounters with the surrounding environment, exploring representations of various spatial issues. His research is articulated around notions of borders and transformations related to territories, real and imaginary, intimate or fantasized. This photographic series gives us mainly to see landscape constellations produced by a decaying nature in the dead season, guiding our eyes by ways highlighted by the choice of contrast in black and white. Valérie Champigny shares a singular look that transforms places composed of spatial geographies in balance.
Opening Reception: Thursday, June 7 from 5:30 pm.
Guided Tour: Saturday, June 9, from 10:30 pm.
