For its 25th anniversary, the Festival “le Réel en Vue” dedicates a weekend to documentary photography under the title of “Rencontres de la photographie documentaire”, from September 30 to October 2 in Thionville, Moselle.
The Festival organizes in the framework of the program “Ouverture du Regard” and in close collaboration with the Photoklatsch of the Center “Le Lierre” its first meetings of documentary photography. At the heart of these meetings, several devices and events.
A triple exhibition, of three photographers from the Grand-Est, dedicated to the heritage and the steel industry in Lorraine: Jérôme Jacob: Double Album, Arnaud Pagnier: Aesthetica Regionis Vallis Angelorum, Julien Billerach: Dernier Domicile Connu
A masterclass, from October 1st to 2nd, directed by Anne Paq, photographer and reporter, dedicated to “committed photography”.
Workshops for young audiences are also offered on October 1 and 2.
About the Festival Le Réel en vue
Since its creation in 1998, the “Le Réel en vue” festival has offered a selection of documentary films in November, with a diversity of writing, forms and ideas that reflect the worldviews and freedom of their authors. The documentary film festival project has been supported from the beginning by the volunteers and the team of the social center “Le Lierre” (Thionville). It aims to promote the distribution and organization of meetings between directors and the public by highlighting contemporary documentary production and participating in the establishment of training and image education.
